Landscape design reflects the culture and it's history. The 17th century French gardens designed by Andre Le Notre were my entre into the history and culture surrounding King Louis X1V. Following in the footsteps of Eugene Atget, who photographed Paris during the Belle Epoque, I photographed my way through the gardens. As Eugene Atet did, I followed my own path through the gardens, and what began as a document of Andre Le Notre's landscape design became a document of the walk itself. The cumulative affect of my photographs is a walking meditation on the past, what we have learned from it and what we have lost.
